Introduction
The P&M Paignton RESIDENCE, previously known as Clarando Private
Hotel, then Hotel Fiesta, then The Paignton
Cosmopolitan (2006-2010), occupies a Victorian mid-terraced
property, built around 1887 and
offering accommodation to Paignton visitors since 1912.
The main building has three main floors with two half landings.
There is no lift. We apologise that The P&M Paignton
RESIDENCE is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with
impaired mobility, above the ground floor.
There is one bedroom on
the ground floor, Superior Room 1.
We are VisitBritain 4* Silver Award Rated. We have a total of 8
bedrooms in three categories of Standard, Superior
and Deluxe. All are ensuite.
Our location is the flat central area of Paignton, close to the
Pier, cinema and main beach and town centre.
Our guests are primarily non-smoking couples (young and
not-so-young) and business people.
Pre-arrival
We are 10 minutes walk from the bus and rail stations.
We have a small car park at the front of the property. We
do not reserve spaces, it’s first come, first served.
The nearest multi-storey car park is 2 minutes walk away (Garfield
Road).
The Spinning Wheel Pub is almost opposite us and they have a car park
available at £5 for 24 hrs in the summer and £3.50 in
the winter. (Charges subject to change.)
Taxis are available at the railway station or can be
booked on 01803 292292.
Check-in is from 2pm to 8pm.
Please don’t arrive before 2pm as your room may not be ready.
We do not usually accommodate pets. Assistance dogs are welcome.
We do not accommodate groups of more than 6 people, nor children
under the age of 18yrs. (There may be exceptions to this rule –
please call to discuss. )
Arrival and Car Parking
If there is a space on our car park then please use it. If not,
then between April and September you’ll need to
use the Spinning Wheel Pub or the NCP Multi-Storey Car Park at
the top of the road. You’ll need to pay for these.
Between October and March you can park on the opposite side of
the road without restriction, assuming there is a
space.
We’ll be happy to assist you with luggage, subject to
weight.
There are two steps into the property. There is
a grab bar to the right of the steps.
We’ll be happy to assist mobility-impaired guests as
appropriate. Please ring the door bell.
The front door is always kept closed and locked for
security.
Please ring the door bell to signal your arrival.
When we answer the door please tell us who you are!
Main Entrance
We ask guests to register and accept our Terms and Conditions in
the Breakfast Room, off the main hallway, on arrival.
We then demonstrate the use of keys, answer any questions and
will show you to your room.
Public Areas
In the entrance there is an information rack,
containing local interest leaflets and maps. There
are also Taxi Company business cards – take one just in case.
The main hallway contains a tub chair and
chest of drawers.
At the end of the hallway is the access door to the
staff-only areas. Ring the door bell here for
assistance. The main staircase starts from the
hallway and leads to all the rooms:
